The EyeTV app allows you to transform your iPad and iPhone into mobile televisions, offering seamless access to the EyeTV software and hardware from your Mac. This convenient feature enables users to enjoy live TV, manage recordings, explore program schedules, and effortlessly control recording schedules remotely. Additionally, the app facilitates connecting to your home Mac through the My EyeTV service over the internet, along with the ability to stream live TV or recordings onto larger screens using AirPlay.
The setup process is straightforward, requiring no reconfiguration of your existing Wi-Fi network. Simply enable the "iPhone/iPad Sharing" option in the EyeTV preferences. While automatic configuration may not always work beyond your local network, more information can be found on www.geniatech.eu. For users with the OS X firewall enabled, allowing incoming connections for both EyeTV and EyeConnect is essential; EyeTV operates on port 2170. If connection problems persist, temporarily disabling and reactivating the firewall might resolve the issue.
To utilize the EyeTV app effectively, certain system requirements must be met: a Mac with OS X 10.6.8 or later, EyeTV 3.6.5 or later paired with a compatible TV tuner, as well as an iPad Air, iPad (iPad 2 or later), iPad mini, iPhone (iPhone 4 or later), or iPod touch (5th generation) running iOS 7.0.4 or newer.
